Robin Woolven, still a member of the Society's Council though retired to Gloucestershire, is a diligent historian of the aerial bombing of London during the Second World War, 1939-1945. In this talk he turns his attention to the problems, frustrations and successes in clearing and repairing the damaged properties and possessions of the businesses and citizens of what is now the London Borough of Camden.
The meeting will be held in Meeting Room 1 at The Lumen, 88 Tavistock Place, WC1H 9RS, a new venue for the Camden History Society. The Lumen is in the rebuilt United Reform Church, at the extreme eastern end of Tavistock Place near the corner of Regent Square. It is easily reached on foot (8 minutes' walk) from bus stops on Gray's Inn Road, Tavistock Square or Euston Road and from King's Cross/St Pancras Tube station (up Judd Street, then left at the traffic lights). |
