The new volume in our Streets series surveying the history of all parts of the London Borough of Camden is Streets of Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park. It is a completely revised and greatly expanded successor to From Primrose Hill to Euston Road published thirty years ago. So much new historical information has become available, especially as more records are accessible online. The book is devised as seven walks - each starting and ending at Underground stations – and exploring all the streets within an area extending between Adelaide Road to the north and Euston Road to the south, and bounded on the east by the West Coast Main Line and Hampstead Road. The walks describe the area’s history and architecture, while also giving prominence to the many notable former residents from all walks of life, attracted by proximity to central London.
Research team members John Cottrell, Steve Denford, David Hayes and Ruth Hayes will give short talks about various aspects of the area.
Non-members are welcome to attend the talks. They are preceded at 7pm by the Society's AGM (open to CHS members only).
